Hasan-Halit Oz,
Biomarker Scientist
Hasan joined Granite Bio in November 2024 as a Senior Scientist to conduct and support pre-clinical and translational studies. In January 2026 he transferred internally to the translational team, working as Biomarker Scientist for the clinical studies. He brings over 15 years of experience in immunology, with a focus on inflammatory and infectious disease models, along with extensive expertise in multi-color flow cytometry.
Prior to joining Granite Bio, Hasan worked as Associate Research Scientist at the Yale School of Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics, where he used IN VIVO models and cell-based assays to define the role of CCR2+ monocytes and monocyte-derived macrophages in chronic inflammatory conditions, such as Cystic Fibrosis. As a senior lab member, he successfully supervised multiple projects, mentored numerous junior investigators, and facilitated both intra- and extramural collaborations.
Hasan started his career in the field of microbial immunology at the Interfaculty Institute of Microbiology and Infection Medicine in Tübingen, where he explored how LPS structures influence immune cells towards pro-inflammatory or anti-inflammatory phenotypes. He received his PhD from the University of Tübingen, focusing on host-microbe interactions and cellular immunology in the laboratory of Dr. Dominik Hartl.
